Dr. Baseera Ambreen, Director of the Institute of Urdu Language and Literature, University of the Punjab, attended the ceremony for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Directorate General of Archaeology, Government of Punjab, and the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) at the Iqbal Museum (Javid Manzil) in Lahore on 27 February 2026. Dr Ambreen was invited as an Iqbal expert. The agreement aims to formalize bilateral cooperation between Türkiye and Pakistan for the preservation, promotion, and development of cultural heritage, particularly focusing on the renovation, restoration, and modernization of the museum dedicated to Allama Muhammad Iqbal, the Poet of the East. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Mehmet Eymen Şimşek, Consul General of Türkiye, Ms. Saliha Tuna, TIKA Country Coordinator, Mr. Zaheer Abbas Malik, Director General Archaeology, Mr. Taseer Ahmed, Director Lahore Museum, Mr. Hamid Nazir, Curator Lahore Museum, Mr. Ihsan Bhutta, Secretary Tourism, Chaudhry Anees Ahmed, Abid Sherwani, and Ms. Shehla Anees.
